Well I finally got my timing chain replaced and fired the vette up today. Man it was sweet. The timing was advanced 25 degrees and the old cam sprocket had five broken teeth. It is now running awesome. So I started to remove the stock exhaust to make room for the dynomax headers I bought. I was wondering if there are any tricks to get them in the passenger side looks easy, but the drivers side looks like a nightmare. I also found out my car has some cam a comp cams 268H.

On mine I had to remove the oil pressure sender and water temp sennder on the driver side to get it to slide up around the steering box. You might even have to take out the clutch cross shaft to have enough room. The passenger side was tight around the idler arm. I had Hooker side exhaust headers so you might run into something else. Hope that helps.

On the left side mine can go in from the top or bottom. Very easy with a lot of room. The right side I have to remove the dipstick tube, the clutch linkage and the spark plugs. The temp sender I can work around. It is a much tighter fit but mine go in with little struggle. It also depends on the brand of header. I have Hooker Comps on mine.

Well I finally got everything on the car and fired it up. Boy open headers rock. I also made two videos one of the car idling and one test ride. I cannot get the videos online due to some server ftp problems, but if you email me I can send them to anyone who wants to see.

Way to go Sigforty! I am in Kuwait right now, but got a chance to check the forum. I put the headers on my '70 from the bottom, and it was a breeze! I won't be back in town for 120 days to a year...so I'll be seeing you then.
Enjoy your headers!
