if you want to stay with a flat tappet hyd. and stock convertor, look for a cam with @ 220-225 dur @.050 and @ .450-.500 lift. and 110-112 sep.
hope this helps

"Better sound ", which usually means a loopy or choppy muscle car sound, is usually the product of more duration and lift of the cam. Nevertheless, better performance, complimenting the rest of your engine, drive train, exhaust system and driving style, should be the primary goal of installing a new cam.

For your street car with an otherwise stock L82, and without sacrificing low end torque, I would recommend a Lunati VooDoo cam and lifter set: LUN-60102LK: 219/227 @ .050" and .468/489" lift; RPM range of 1400-5800. Less than $200 in the Summit catalog.

You could go the next step up, LUN-602103LK, with more duration and lift, but you would also start to sacrifice low end torque for the street, and that might not make your vette as fun to drive.
