I searched the archives first and came across plenty of C2 answers but nothing for C3's. I'm looking at purchasing a 1970 454 Roadster, the owner has never dropped the tank so there's a possibility something might be there. In the meantime what else sets a BB apart from a SB? It is a numbers matching 454, (restamps worry me), with a big block hood, what are some of the less noticeable items that set a BB apart?

sorry, but these are incorrect, the correct redline for a BB is 5600.
No factory documentation, according to the seller the tank has never been dropped so a glimmer of hope? Someone from the forum will be available on Thursday so hopefully I'll get a better picture. I'm a bit concerned that he says the engine assebmly date and designator are the same sized stampings as the vin sequence.
Anyone ever heard of that? Everyone I've ever seen display the vin sequence much smaller.
