Hi, I am finally getting ready to spend more money to get my Trick Flow 23 deg. alum heads installed.
The manual recommends full roller rockers, but I'd rather just go with roller-tip rockers. I was leaning towards crn-11806-16 for $160 (and my heads came with guideplates).
The manual only lists pushrod combinations for full roller rocker setup. With my cam (cc 268h) and full roller setup (Comp Cams), they recommend 7.200".
What do you guys think would be a good pushrod length to get? I haven't purchased the roller tipped rockers yet, so if you know of another combo that might work out better for me (and won't cost a ton) , please let me know.
thanks!!!

I am using the same set up that you are going to. My filing system sucks, so I cannot lay my hands on the part number for the pushrods that I used. I should be able to find them later tonight or tomorrow.
In any case, the pushrods I used track nicely across the top of the valve tip, so I assume they are correct.
AWESOME, thanks very much for the response. Sounds like we'll have pretty similar setup, except I got auto and 3.55s. Glad to hear things will work OK for me (ideally) - I'd be VERY interested in getting that part num when you get a chance.
THANKS!

Terry;
Are you sure you are reading that right. A 7.200 pushrod is used with roller lifters. A stock length with standard hyd lifter is 7.765 to 7.800. I can't believe a .600 short pushrod would be right just for roller rockers?
Part # for pushrods I am using is CCA-7812-1 (Summit Racing #). Their on line catalog shows them to be 7.794 long and hardened for guide plate use. Summit price - $3.39 ea.
I am using Comp Cams Magnum roller tip 1.52 rockers. Summit # CCA 1412-16. $136.95 per set.
PETE:
Thanks for the message. No, I don't really know what I'm doing in regards to pushrod selection. :crazy: This is my first pushrod swap (for cam change I just put originals back in same way I took 'em out). Thought I would send a mail to Trickflow and post on here and go with the consensus.
You might want to get some roller rockers. Roller tip is a scam, the benefit of roller rockers is from the roller at the fulcrum. High speed photography has shown that even roller rockers slide across the valve stem, they don't roll. It's marketing. I have a set of the older Summit black (quality ones made by Crane, before they switched to the newer lower quality summit roller rockers) 1.6/1.5 mixed 3/8" stud roller rockers with about 5000 miles on them that I'll sell you if you are interested.
