wiper door working in reverse ?
We'll you can tell spring is in the air alot of headlight and wiper door questions.I've been watching and learning these last couple of days and I've rebuilt my thing of bob by the tach and started car wiper door works but in reverse .When i use the bypass the door closes.And open all the rest of the time .Also if i pinch off lines or disconnect vacuum lines and replace my head lights work .And they normally don't.By the way this is a project 68 and the dash is out .Along with everythng else. Well I assume you are aware of another post I made in another thread about this topic....the CONTROL (small) hose is the key, when it's got vacuum present...'(suck) any doors are down/closed....so it's suck-down....
if no suck, obviously the controll relays change state by being spring loaded, and they should pop UP....now IF that logic is backwards, the only thing it can be is the large actuator/motor supply hoses from the relay to the actuator are backwards....well unless the main supply hose is not in the center of the relay, that is...

Hi Gene yes i did read your post most helpful. I just went out and pulled the little white line off the the relay valve ,it was sucking with the door open ,but then it closed. and when i reconnected it it stayed closed .Then i tried the wiper switch and wipers came on and door did'nt raise.Any ideas .Thanks Terry

Terry from my initial read on it, you have two problems, one, the large vacuum lines are reversed from relay to actuator....and two, the actuator has a bad 'witches hat' seal on the actuator arm output side...
to proved the point, kill the wipers, by unplugging the thick red wire to the motor or turn switch off under steering....in car...
now take the main suck hose off the hopefuly CENTER post of the relay, verify it has vacuum present with engine running...then conntec it to each of the vacuum imputs in turn...to the canister....only ONE at a time, obviously...
does the door go up and down....if not, the actuator needs a witches hat if it operated in only onw direction...both directions should be equally as fast in operation....

OK little problem bottom nipple on relay broke off . So I took main feed line to both ends of actuator and opens real fast and closes with a delay but then jumps closed.So I guess i need a new acuator. First of all .Whats a witchs hat the check valve? thanks again Gene

I didnt realize the relay has a color code to it green white red .The 2 lines to the actuator where reversed .Maybe first I'll super glue it back together to try it.
