Re: Anyone run Sunoco? (silvervetteman)
AS often as possible as Sunoco is the only place around here that I can get anything other than 91. Also in Canada, Esso is well known for having the dirtiest gas ie. highest sulphur content and a couple of guys that I met running bb's and strokers told me to stay away from the Esso.

We have one in town, you can even get the 110 octane racing gas  But they make you pump it into a container.

I've run Sunoco Ultra 94 for years. I'll even go out of my way to get it if I have to. My car seems to dislike Mobil or Texaco high test.

Re: Anyone run Sunoco? (silvervetteman)
It's the only thing I can get around here that's 94 octane. I hate Petro Can. I will not buy cut rate gas only brand names and Sunoco is my brand.

Re: Anyone run Sunoco? (silvervetteman)
I always run the synoko 94 octane. I havent tried much else because I dont want to risk any engine damage. I have a farily high compression of 10 to 1 and I have had no pinging problems so far. Its worth the extra couple cents to me to run the best stuff I can find.

Re: Anyone run Sunoco? (71vettman)
I seem to have no problems with 91 octane here in CO and 11.2:1 ratio. It amazes me, because I'm at full timing too. The only thing I think that is keeping it from detonation/pinging is the .043 quench height.

Big Blocks seem to be more sensitive to octane.... I do not quite know why but they are.

I use Sunoco 94 here in upstate NY, seems to run great, not much different than 92 or 93 that I've found though.

I use Wal-Mart (Sam's Club) 93 octane -- good stuff! And usually the cheapest in town (currently $1.35/gal).
Does the Canadian gov't still own Petro Can? Damn shame...
