Default Need exhaust info quick

Ok I got a 77 and I'm redoing the whole exhaust and putting duals on it. I have gotten quotes from some local shops to have them put on and looking to get it done this next week. Well I was looking around online today and found an exhaust system for sale for cheaper than anything else so far. This is my question... Its a chambered exhaust system that came off a 68, its in pratically new shape and am trying to find out if it would fit on my 77? If its just the matter of the flange size from the manifolds I'm not too worried because I can fix that easily, I just need to know if it will fit bend and twist in all the same spots. My tranny x member has the 2 pass threw holes so that shouldn't be an issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your replacing a 2 to 1 - 1 to 2 original system that used one cat, you need a new transmission exhaust hanger bracket. Used exhaust systems are not worth it. 68 had different rear muffler hangers etc.

Look at CC to get an idea of pricing.

I've seen this used exhaust system and if the guy hadn't told me it was used I never would have known because it looks brand new and its nearly half the price of a new one. Ok so other than exhaust hangers and trans bracket (which it looks like I'll have to get reguardless of what exhaust I put on it) are all the bends and twists in the same place and would it fit?

No doubt you will need the dual hanger at the transmission mount. The other issue will be where it exits. I think 68 exits through rear valence, 77 is below the bumper cover. You can always fab up the rear hangers.

I have chambered on my 73, get ready to wake the dead. Hooker side pipes on me 76 are much quieter. Both are louder than stock.

I looked at the cross member bracket and it looks pretty simple and I can probably just make one in a short time and I'd imagine I can just adjust the rear pipes a bit to clear rear bumper. I don't want anything really loud and annoying but the youtube videos I found of this system I do like the way the aggressive sound at idle and taking off. Bit loud on the top but by then I'll be headin down the road and it'll be behind me anyway right? Ha!
