What do you need all the oil for?

Moroso 20403 is a good fitting 6 qt pan. Clears everything well.

Also Milodon makes a killer new pan that fits BB C3s with better windage control then even the Moroso.

I run the moroso 20403 but can only run 5.5 qts with my 4.25" stroker crank to keep from getting into windage issues and major HP loss.

Have any parts numbers for the Milodon?

Very good option. NHRA Stock Eliminator racers use them a lot.

Here is the engine Im building for the 69
I bought a aluminum Merlin X block, all mark 4 compatible. not going to big on the cubes but it will be supercharged, roller cam and fuel injected.
I dont know if I can buy just any BB chevy oil pan or need one built for a 69 vette, and yes 6 qts is enough.
Thanks:
Tom

I am running a Stefs pan on my 427 in my 69

Call them up, the guy I talked to had a c3 and sold me the pan with all the goodies inside.

Its a 6q pan

If your running that block this aluminum pan would match it nice!

For a 454 the LS-7 arrangement does work well.

For stroker stuff you need more room around the front section to allow oil to get away from the crank. The Milodon 31188 is a killer pan and fits Vette's without P/S...but is close. It will work with Steeroids power rack and pinion though. The equivalent Moroso style drag pan is about a 1/4" too deep in the front and will hit stock drag link.

The pan Alan mentioned would do well on a 454 also.

I have the Milodon. Went out and looked and couldn't find a part number. It has outriggers to increase oil volume and internal splash plates.

Here's the Milodon I'm talking about. It's called the *stepped drag race pan*. What I like about it is that instead of the normal kickouts..it actually has a smaller lower section of the sump. This way any oil that gets back to the pan is higher over the pickup. It also has full length kickout area and a windage tray. I don't really road race with it...but i do get on the brakes pretty hard from 140+ mph on some short dragstrips and I've never seen the pressure fluctuate.

So some steering gets in the way, I better add more info,
I have PS but it it a Borguson Box. this removes the cylinder and valve,
Also updated the suspension to a mono leaf kit in front, dont think this would matter.

I've got Borgesson on my car and it clears fine. The 31188 Milodon is a relatively deep pan....it comes to the bottom of a scattershield..but above the headers on my car. The only time it's ever hit anything was a giant tire carcass once...but otherwise it's been fine. The LS-7 and above Moroso have better ground clearance if that's an issue.

Here is the last "high" HP motor I built a Dart block 540 making over 1000hp on 9 psi boost and trust me with that nice block you bought do not put any old pan on it
