Where to mount Large trans coolers?
Has anyone got pics of how they mounted a large trans coolers on a 80-82 c3 with a/c? I have a rail type mounted acoss the bottom on the a/c condensor to clear the hood.I dont think it gets much air flow at idle. My 700r4 temps gets hot at idle 180+ sitting in heavy traffic on hot days with a/c on, car temp under 200. I was thinking of one of those coolers with its own fan and mounting it horizontal in the 81 air dam/valance. Any ideas? thanks Phil

You want to eliminate the tranny going through radiator end tank. I ran my 700R4 with the biggest B&M cooler horizontally out in the nose. My reasoning was you would get convection flow when you at standing still at the staging lights.
I have a friend with a drag car and his electric fan cooler is mounted clear out back like below the license plate with a pusher fan
