Exhaust popping
Took the car out for a nice ride yesterday. When I got back home, I heard the right side exhaust popping. I did hear this in the past, but after having Lars rebuild my carb and installing the correct manafold gaskets, the problem went away for a while. I have noticed the idle is rougher than usual. I tried adjusting the mixture screws a bit, but no effect and returned them to their starting point. I have replaced the wires, coil, plugs, cap, and rotor last year. It has a after market dual point setup, which I have not adjusted. I have a new MSD distributor and ignition box I have yet to install.
What items could cause these symptoms(ignition, leaking valve)? Thanks...

Also an air leak anywhere in the exhaust system will cause a little backfiring (sounds like "popping"), and of course the car will sound a bit louder depending on size and location of leak. I got it from a broken front pipe up near the manifold. I also got it from a not perfectly clamped connection all the way back at the muffler. MJ
