Anybody ever rebuild there power brake booster? I have done several on european cars over the years and not really that big of a job! Where do you get the parts? I have a 71' coupe.
Unless you have to have the one that’s on the car I would not attempt to rebuild it even then I would send it out (good luck getting it apart) . You can buy rebuilt ones for under $100. Or new ones for $150 -$200. They are available from local auto parts stores and supporting vendor of this forum.
I used These guys http://boosterdeweyexchange.com/
To rebuild a booster from a 63 Buick that I rebuilt a few years ago. I was very pleased with the job Dewey did.
Can they be bench tested if it's out of the car? Would a reputable brake shop be able to do a bench test. I'm taking everything off the firewall to patch, clean and paint the firewall.
