pasenger door will not open 78vette
I was hoping someone could help me with my problem.I have a 78 vette ,pasenger door will not open.I can look down into the door and see all the rods seem to be in order.the lock lever is not in lock position.Both the inside and outsideleavers pull the lock mechanism,but the latch(hook)does not release.Any suggestions?Thanks.

I had the same problem on my 79. I could open it from the inside, the locks worked but couldn't open it from outside. pulled the door panel and saw that the spring on the door handle was broken. I replaced the door handle on the outside and everything works fine now.

Not sure if you got what you need but I've had this problem on two different 78s. Here are two tech articles; the first describes how to get in when locked out as you describe. The pictures aren't too good, but I've got the original photos and can scan if it would be helpful. The other describes how to repair power door locks once you get in.
