1980 Corvette engine skipping

1980 Corvette - stock 350 c.i. engine with stock auto trans. Car starts fine and idles fine, cruises around town fine. On highway - when I get up to 60, 62, 65 mph - there seems to be a slight "skip" in the engine - like a cylinder is not firing - just for a mili-second - but nonetheless a skip that recurs, and a slight but noticeable hesitation in momentum. Reducing speed - the skip goes away. I am thinking spark plugs? Current plugs have 8,000+ miles on them. When the plugs were last changed also changed the plug wires. Probably just plugs - or could the problem go deeper - distributor? Any replies are appreciated. Thank you.

Could one of your wires be touching metal when up at that speed ? It's too soon for another tune up, if you just did one 8k ago....

at night pop the hood and look to see if you have arcing from the sparkplug wires.you might have to rev it up to see it.
