Good morning everybody. While under the car (79 L48 coupe) in the area behind the left front tire I noticed a little vacuum device/valve (pic 1, laying on the brake pressure differential valve) of some sort that had become unattached and was hanging by vacuum hose that was still attached. On the back of this device the light blue plastic (the round area) is broken in an area that either attaches the device to the car or is another vacuum port. I think it's another port but I could not find a loose hose. There is also an electrical connector on the device. I traced the hose that is still attached up a T and into the firewall just to the left side of the wiper motor (pic 2). Anybody know what the little device is? As always thanks for reading and offering help.

what it is: an experimental device that Chevrolet was working on to boost the horse power to over 600. The EPA killed, but lucky you, hook it up and go like hell!
No No, that's not right! It's the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator. This car used to belong to to a guy I know named Marvin, watch for the "KABOOM"!
WOW again I have an 80 and it shure does not look like that , another eng. marvel.
You guys are all wrong , that is a winshield DRYER used after heavy rains.
You guys are all full of it! Any fool could see that it's a Flux Capacitor! Just make sure it is getting 1.21 gigawatts of power, and be ready for the time warp when you hit 88 miles an hour. Oh, and remember, if you go into the past, don't change anything.......you could endanger your own existence.
