EARLY OR LATE???
Does anyone know the correct way to tell if you have an Early or Late '77 Vette?? :confused: I've heard of several different ways to tell, but what is the right way?? :cheers: :chevy Thanks in advance!!!!! :D

I have the VIN number sequence below, but no corrolary dates. The next best item would be the tank sticker, which would include a date (if legible).
VIN: 1Z37L7S40001 through 1Z37L7S449213.
If it included the optional L-82 engine, the 5th digit will be an "X" in lieu of an "L".

Post the last 6 digits of your vin code and I can tell you what month the car was built.
Very early 77's had the engine painted orange. From Sept. 76 on the engine was painted blue.
Early 77's had the alarm switch mounted on the front fender, Later ones were part of the door key switch.
