I'm planning to change the valve springs on my '71 LT-1 over the next few days. I was planning to re-use my stock retainers/keepers. The local auto parts store suggested Speed Pro VS739R springs (much cheaper than Comp Cams or Crane).
I was wondering if anyone was using these springs for their solid lifter LT-1.
WoW - it's nice to hear that there's folks with 'solid' lifters.... :chevy
Sorry - can't help - but it sounds like that 'setup' should work out well since both types (companies) are far superior to 'stock' springs.
Do you have any pics of your LT-1, those cars are rare these days !
I replaced my original factory solids with TRWs about thirty years ago and the engine is still runnin' strong....very....very strong. Hint: Once you get the valves adjusted, double nut 'em and they will stay adjusted longer.
