be careful if you use freeon to freeze it. it will pop the paint also if not careful. kerosene [sp?] works great on gum, tar, etc. won't harm the paint, wash good after and wax should work out fine. robert
Re: How do you get gum off the paint (pats406nitrovette)
I vote for Goo Gone. You can buy it at K-mart and other fine stores :D It will remove Gum, grease, marker etc off of almost anything and it won't hurt you paint.
It did not taste good so it looked like a petroleum product was the choice. WD 40 worked good. Spray on a paper towel and have at it. A little wash and wax and we are good as new. Thanks for the tips.
Go down to your local Automotive Paint Store and pick up a can of "Prep-Sol", it comes in various size cans.
This is what is used in the painting business to remove oil, tar, and other objects that water cannot remove. This is industrial strength, and works better than anything else I have used on the market.
