Default Help changing these hoses?

Hey guys, just got the car back from the paint shop, before installing the rear bumper I noticed these hoses on top of the gas tank need replacing. does anyone have any tips on replacing these without dropping the tank? Thanks in advance.

not worth the effort of trying. Just make it easy and drop the tank.

SanDiegoPaul is right on. Empty the tank, & drop it, have a friend help you put it back, will make it easy. You might get lucky and find your build sheet on the top. Not a bad job at all. Gene

And replace the sock on the fuel pickup in the tank. It's probably the 33 year old original, like those hoses.

ok, can anyone explain how to drop the tank, don't these hoses need to be disconnected? it seems the metal lines will bend as the tank is lowered.

Yes Sir; When you get the spare tire holder off the car & the tank drained, there is a gas tank support which has two straps which go around both ends of the tank from the support to the rear of the frame, which have to be unbolted at the frame. Than supporting the tank from the bottom, if you don't have any help. Remove the support, there is usally a rubber between the tank & the fiberglass of the car which will come down with it. let the tank down a bit, cut the hoses, tank than can be let down, clean up mess and reinstall the same way with new hoses. You can line the frame & the support with Roofing felt, cut to fit, paint, take pictures & brag. about 4 hrs paint & all, good time to change tail light bulbs. I'm sure there are people on here, smarter than I, that can add there two cents. Have a great day. Gene

I used a transmission jack to lower mine. That makes it very easy.
