Can you remove the PS belt
Can you remove the Power Steering belt if there is a major loss of fluid, such as to get a car home or moved, it might test my bicep strength?

Yes. I had the pulley come loose one day and it was hitting the fan shroud. I cut the belt and came home. It was a real pisser to steer. I would not recommend it for long, not sure what it would do to the pump. When I got home, tightened the pulley, new belt and it has worked fine for over 2 years.

I ran my car without a PS belt for about 2 years. It didn't seem to damage any hydraulics. The flex coupler took a beating though so I replaced it when I got the PS working again. Steering effort really wasn't that bad (and I never moved the tie-rods from the "fast" holes either). The only time it was a real bear was parking.
