Yes it does, but you dont have to have PS to have a ps pump. do a search on them(hydor boost)... you will find that anyone that has done this mod can't say enough good about it. Cost me $300 and it was the best $300 I have ever spent on her....
Its hard to explain what a difference it is, but it is amazing... best brakes I have EVER EVER had.... actually like them better (the feel) than my C5 brakes

That would probably my best choice if I already had a PS pump. Just a quick search reveals that it'll cost me at least $450-$500 for all the brackets, braces, pulleys and a pump. $800 is more than I'm willing to spend on this little venture.
Ive heard of most guys having issues with tall valve covers by the booster and the wiper door actuator (especially the older style actuator). I have tall covers on my motor and am going to try this 7" booster
How much adapting is involved with the 7" booster?
I checked into this a while ago to try and achieve a firmer pedal than the soft stock setup since the diaphragm size and amount of vacuum is one factor that determines the pedal pressure. I just decided to go another route.
The master mount is pretty common and the 4 stud firewall mount is no more work than converting a manual car to boosted. A universal type booster also has an adjustable pedal rod.
We have a couple of booster rebuilders fairly local, so they were of some help.
Here is an example of the firewall mount needed, don't know if the master mount will fit either oem master style.
Basically, if everything mounts properly, any booster works with any master or pedal linkage.
