I put in the front monospring conversion (not the complete kit) and really like it. The adjustable ride height and spring rate are great. I have the stock lower A-arms but tubular upper A-arms. In hindsight, I should have saved up some more $$ and boght the complete kit with upper and lower tubular A-arms. I had to widen a hole in the lower A-arm so the bolt wouldn't rug. Still one of the better upgrades I made to my '80.
I have the full kit front mono spring in mine. I like the adjustability of both spring rate and ride height. I really like it. Pricey but what is not with a Vette.
I don't know kit you are looking at the VB&P $700 beginers or the $960 with lower a-arm. Each of these kits still need a shock, so add that item on top.
I'd be asking what are the min and max spring rate of the mono systems. I don't know what they are?????
There are alternatives. Have you looked at semi coil over and full coil over fronts?

While it doesn't say it anywhere you can pick the spring rate you're looking for. If I'm not mistaken (and I very well could be) I believe there is about a 150lbs of adjustment from the softest to the stiffest setting. The springs are also "marked" so that if you already have the mono spring conversion you can call VB&P and tell them what the markings are and they can tell you what spring rate you have. That was told to me by one of the VB&P people at Carlisle when I asked the same question you did.
I just installed the front mono spring kit on my frame up restoration. Very easy to do. I went with this upgrade mostly because of the adjustable ride heighth and adjustable spring rate. Also went with the Borgeson steering box and will look at the electric headlamp upgrade as well as 5 speed trans and LS motor. Any thoughts on this will be appreciated.
