Help needed: late C3 wiper delay module - wtf?!?
Wipers quit working on my '81 several years ago. Pulled the motor, it checked out, reinstalled, still no wipers. Pulled the switch, checked out, reinstalled, still no wipers. Didn't bother me much, I don't drive my car in the rain. Well, almost never. ;)
But it's a hassle getting the car safety-inspected, and I decided to get it fixed.
Traced (75% certain :rolleyes: ) to the delay module, behind passenger seat (wtf is it doing back there, anway?).
Has anyone on here every encountered and fixed this particular problem? If I read the catalog right (and I hope I didn't) Zip has a "80-82 wiper switch controller, pulse" for $259! :eek: :U
I am certainly not so enamored of the variable wiper delay feature that I'm willing to pay that much for it, IF it's possible to bypass it somehow and simply regain on/off control of the wipers.
Can it be by-passed? :confused: Is there a cheaper fix for the module?

I replaced my wiper controller last year, that price is correct unfortunately. I think Dr Rebuild may have it a little cheaper, but I think it's one of his "non-returnable" items.
When my controller went out, the wipers still worked at the regular speeds, just the delay didn't work.

Could I get the wire colors from the back of the switch please
If you have the order they enter the switch I might be able to tell you witch wire to jump in the rear compartment.
Pictures would be great.
I spent some time trying to devise a simple fix for the controller, but ran out of time before it started raining. (I need it back in the car to use my wipers)
Monty or gator81 are you willing to part with your no functioning controller, if so please sent me an email. I would like to work on this and still have wipers
