I'm on this board like multiple times a day, but not everybody is.
Some of the guru's around here don't show up but once a week or so.

I saw an artice on this in Corvette magazine a year or 2 ago. They installed cruise control from Dakota Digital in a manual trans Vette. I have the magazine somewhere but it'll probaby be faster to find it on the internet.
I talked with Sasche Rod Shop, and they said it would be fairly easy, but you have to deactivate the controller before you push in the clutch, or its full tilt boogie on the RPM's. It seems like there ought to be a way to kill it when the clutch is depressed, just like tapping the brake in my truck.
i am running a rostra universal electronic cruise control in my 69. it is on a 700r4 automatic so i disconnected the tach cable to keep it from disengaging when the trans downshifts on a steep hill. other than that no problems at all. i have it mounted below the vacuum canister on the drivers side. i use the speed sensor that mounts between the trans and the speedo cable. works great. don't see why it wouldn't work just as well on a manual trans.
Ok sports fans, I found it. March 2008 issue of Corvette Enthusiast. They install a Dakota Digital cruise control kit in a 79. It says it can be installed in any Vette from 53 to 96. It uses a vehicle speed sensor installed in line with the speedo cable. There are 2 switches to disable the cruise, one on the brake pedal and 1 on the clutch. Pushing either cancels cruise. I'll see if I can scan this article into a pdf.
I have a 1979 factory four speed car that i just installed a factory set up. All that need modifing was correct speedo cables. It works great, just tap the brake before pushing in the clutch. Plus it look factory. Ive been using it for 32 years with out a hitch.
