Default "S" wire for starter ends up under consol???

I am trying the get my key ignition to start my car. The purple "S" wire should go to the small connector on the starter solenoid so when I traced it back it came to an empty connector. Should I have something there? I did take the engine out and also the interior but don’t remember yanking any connectors from the ends of wires. It's the two purple wires in the center is where my "S" wrie from the starter ends up.

I think it is supposed to be for the neutral safety switch on auto cars.

Well i think its creating an open in my circuit? maybe i could just short them together since my car is a manual.

Unplug the battery and jump those connectors.

I bet it'll trace back to the S terminal on the starter then.

Well i took my starter down and had it tested ... It's good.

I hooked everything back up (+ battery cable and another Positive lead and the "S" Connector) I hooked up the negative on the battery and nothing except lights and blinkers, no starter. I took my voltage/OHM meter and the S connector is shorted to ground. when i disconnect the steering column it still shorts to ground. I check the connector and made sure it is not shorted to started housing and it OK. so i take the wire off the "S" connector and the wire is not shorted to ground the "S" connector itself is shorted to ground. ??????

But it tested fine at the auto store.

OK, Got it working.... that purple connector in the first pic neeed to be shorted together. I don't know how it started before because i'm certain it was not shorted before.

It's very common for these connectors to come apart on their own. Not may still have the clips attached to hold them secure so it's easy to dislodge it when taking things apart. I've done it more than once myself. Glad you got it though!
