I recently converted my 69 to the Borgeson Steering Conversion. Overall I love the conversion. Steering overall is much improved except for one issue. The entire front suspension has been rebuilt to show standards on the car so all components are new or rebuilt. On the highway at approx 60mph, the steering wheel vibrates back and forth about 1/8" - 3/16" if you take your hand off the wheel enough to check. You can feel it somewhat in the wheel only at highway speeds. If you hold the wheel tighter the shimmy will stop but is still slightly noticeable. Anybody have any ideas on this. The system is basically just like a Camaro where the hyd boost comes from the steering box unit and not from a separate ram. I had the front end aligned, but I'm wondering if the alignment is off, can it cause this condition. The steering does not pull either direction. I really appreciate any thoughts on this.

check the toe.sounds slightly out and makes the car harder to control.i experimented with all possible settings and i got what you describe when the toe was out.
Jack the front end up, deflate the tires....spin them on the rims, looks for oddball shapes.....
sidewalls be smooth except for printing/lettering...
tread not rough on circumference.... no bobbing and weaving
check for the sound on the rotors, the pads should sound smooth like sandpaper on wood, not some buzzy intermittent scratchy sound like going scuff, scuff....
Thanks for the ideas. The T/A radials are almost new and have been balanced. The front end suspension was rebuilt prior to the Borgeson conversion and did not have the steering wheel oscillation back and forth. With no other changes, the condition started after installing the Borgeson power steering box.... The orientation to the steering column is dead on and there is no movement on the rag joint off its centered position and the safety dowels are centered in the slots.
