Default need U-joints

I need to replace the u-joints, straps & bolts in my half shafts (1982). I want to do that next weekend - where can I order Spicer 1350's and all hardware and have it by the weekend? Preferably someone who accepts Paypal.

Call Forum vendor Van Steel. They are located in Florida as well.

Any parts store will have them , just make sure they are the right ones, if you are not hard on the car get the ones with the grease fittings, Ron

I didn't realize Van Steel is in Florida, their website doesn't list the straps/bolts (maybe I didn't search enough).
I have plans for 4-speed & new motor so I want strong u-joints. It'll be trailing arms and the rear end eventually as well.

I just placed an order from Northern Drivetrain. They had the Spicer 5-799X u-joints and Spicer strap/bolt kits (for 1350 with 5/16x24 bolts) for $21.35 ea and $4.69 ea respectively. We'll see if they deliver...

You should alright , if you get the right ones . I had a hard time with my 80 and an 81 I did last week . the u-joints are all different on the 80-81 , weird. I'm off to FLA this thursday and hoping to get a few parts for mine. Yahoo Orlando bound, it was snowing here yesterday.Ron

I did check out Denny's Driveshafts, they did not list the u-joint straps/bolt kit for my year and their prices were higher.
I did a lot of searching and VERY few companies offer enough detail on their websites. When I found a company that offered both the u-joints and the strap kit, and actually stated the size of the bolts in the kit - they had my business. Even if their price had been a little higher, I appreciate the detail on the website. And the bolts don't have that darn inverted torx or whatever it is...

I had my half shaft U-joints changed a couple of months ago along with a trailing arm. When the new joints came they was the wrong ones. I was at the shop and saw them for myself. The shop tried a different source (NAPA) and they was also wrong but the same type as the first ones. As it turned out the local parts houses showed two different types for a 82, one for automatic transmission and one for manual transmission, strange considering Vettes only can with auto’s in 82. The joints that did fit mine was listed for manual transmissions. Just a little tidbit in case you find the same problem.

I received the new u-joints and strap/bolt kits in 2 days, and they are the correct parts. total was $117.26.

Spicer 5-799X, 1350 u-joints
Spicer 3-70-28X, straps & 5/16-24 bolts (hex head)

I got the half shafts out, wasn't difficult. One of my old u-joints was missing all needle bearings on one side
