Would the cobra stuff shields fit on the maximizer side pipes? Also do they just clamp on?

Yes, they just clamp on which means an easy install. They're made for a 4" side pipe tube.

Can't comment on Patriots but I'm more than satisfied with the cobra stuff.

I really like the design of the cobra shields but they are blood expensive! Have any other cheaper options come about since I last replied lol? I got the 4' OD pipes and I really only seen the cobra shields kit.

I only got burned once, and once was enough.

How much is pain and suffering from a third degree burn worth? And scarring? Just sayin'. You can be careful entering/exiting the car but there's a good chance there'll be that one time....... The shields are effective at reducing the risk of burns.

I agree. The wife got burned pretty bad getting out. That was it for running without shields.

Wrap inserts with header temp tape?
I do not like the look of heat shields.
I run Dougs headers/pipes. I made inserts with Magnafows, some 2.5" pipe, an adapter and a steel cone. Then wrapped it in header tape and stuck it in.
It is a we bit loud... It think they all are.... but! you can put you hand on the pipes. They are hot but not burning.

Not sure what you are running but header tape works.
see: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...t-details.html
for more detail about the build.
