I am trying to gather opinions about this intake, especially about low rpm torque or the lack of it compared to a dual plane intake such as an Edelbrock Performer RPM air gap.

Anyone??
I made the switch from the Performer to TorkerII a few years ago. I really don't think I gave up much(if any) low end torque. However, the difference at about 2800 rpm and up is incredible. It pulls VERY hard after 3000 rpm. Any gain or loss will ultimately depend on the rest of the combination. In my case, my cam was good for 6000, but the Performer intake was holding it back. I would have preferred to run a tall dual plane(Performer RPM), but space under the stock small block hood of my 71 limited my choices. I was not sure what to expect before making the switch, but was surprised how well the TorkerII works. I'm not sure how it would compare to the RPM, but I doubt there would be much of a noticeable difference.

My experience has been almost identical to Tom's. I switched from a Performer and noticed no difference in drivability and I switched for the same reasons as he did. If the engine is stock (or close to), the Torquer probably won't give much benefit over the Performer.
