O.K.....Anyone out there have a decent diagram of where the Neutral Safety/ Back-Up Switch goes ? My '79 shop manual is somewhat vague on the subject. In the console ?....

Under the console, on the shifter.

first check bulbs of course, check frame ground wire for bulb sockets, should be on frame left rear. the neutral safety switch may be out of adjustment. it has two screws and slots so it can be moved. its mounted on right side of shifter under console, you have to remove pass. seat and left side console cover. to get at it. here are a couple of simple diagrams for it.

the bottom diagram shows neutral safety switch. and backup light connector (make sure plug hasnt come loose.)

The turn signals work, so I assume the ground is ok....Right ?
The plugs are on tightly
I put it in Reverse with the key forward, and jiggled the switch, and nada...
Should I now assume that the switch is shot ?

I'll do the obvious now and check the bulbs, but what are the odds that both are out ?
