Default 1978 driver's side courtesy light - how does it mount?

Passenger side mounts to a bracket that is installed in the kick panel.

On the driver's side there is no mount or hole to fix one of these 90* metal tab like brackets nor do I have one.

The housing looks just like the one for the passenger side. How is the driver's side courtesy light affixed and to what?

Thanks

It doesn't mount like the pass side, it snaps into a molded in recess under the dash.......

Can someone post a picture of where the passenger side mounts?

Darn...that's kind of where I was thinking it mounted.

I went and checked my dad's 1980 and I must of bumped it out but it looked like something in that area was holding it. Standing on my head I could see there was something molded in there but I can't get it to snap in place!

Thanks

It's a pain to get em snapped in, probably why so many aren't!

I love this forum!

I spent 15 minutes poking around under the dash and another 15 looking through my AIM and Haynes manuals and still had no idea where that light attached.

60 seconds on the forum: question answered!

So, the follow up question, without checking Willcox's site (not going there until I measure my radiator...tonight?)...

Are those similar to the clips for 75 courtesy lights?
Who sells the plastic clips? I know I never saw those in my car...the lights on both sides were just loose.

Thanks for the pic. I let my drivers side courtesy light dangle for nearly three years (come oct this year) I will put it in place tomorrow.

Default Driver’s side courtesy light

I can’t view the photos posted about how the drivers side courtesy light mounts on a 1980 model. How do I view them?

None of my pics are showing up on the site.
Must be something to do with Flickr, have to look into it.
Posted the above pics direct from my files.
