Default Hooker Sidepipe baffle install question

Hey,

I just picked up a new set of Hooker Super Comp Headers and Sidepipes for a whooping $500 (what a deal).

It came with a set of glasspack mufflers. I noticed that everywhere I read, including the instructions indicate that these just slip right into the sidepipes but when I try to put mine in it is a real tight fit as if I need to you a hammer to get them in.

Has anyone else had this issue? Anything I can do to make this fit easier?

Any info would be great.

Are these used? If so you'll probably need to clean them up first.

Never installed, a couple of the pipes were still in the wrapper. I thought of that but this is quite a tough fit.

I don't know then. I have Max Flo inserts and they slid right in.

Obvious question, have you tried turning them around? The flared end toward the collector is slightly larger...

Yes, I had tried both ways. Looks like the passenger side fits but the drivers side is real tight. That was the one out of the plastic. Starting to think that might be why these were necer installed.

Well I had to bang down the flared edge a little on one of the mufflers and now they fit so I think I'm all set. Thanks for the assistance.
