I just got my compressor hooked up to 220 and did some simple piping, put the oil in and started her up!
Now hopefully I'll be ready tp paint my nose by the end of the month or the first of May so we can attend the Corvette Forum Hooter's poker run in DFW on May 11th!

Details!! Details!! We need Details!!
No not about the Hooters girls. I know those details!
What size pipe? How did you cut the threads? What tools do I need to do this? How did you connect the hose? What about water in the line? Galvanized pipe? And what happens when oil gets in the paint?
Glenn,
While you are running pipe, why don't you run me a line to my house in NC? My compressor is still in storage. Cool, now the fun begins.

My compressor is imbeded in peg board until the insurance adjustor comes to look at the damage. :nonod:
Please tell us it was your driver that relocated your compressor and not the Vette.
John . . . from what I can extrapolate on the pipe size and pressure drop over 50' I think the pipe to NC will have to be bigger in diameter than my tank!   If you can locate an abandoned high pressure gas line, maybe I can tap into it.
Mayberg, I used 3/4" galvanized pipe out of the tank and a 3/4" shut-off valve, then I turned 90 deg down and reduced to 1/2" and into the Sharpe filter I have (#606). 3/8" pipe out of the filter and a Devillbis quick-disconnect connected to a 3/8" 2' swivel hose to a 50' 3/8" Goodyear black rubber hose. At the gun I'm connecting the end of the hose to a Devillbiss regulator w/guage and then into a bulb filter that attaches to the gun. I have a second hose from the filter for running air tools but I haven't purchased an inline oiler for tools yet.
Wish I could. Bright side: the nose was already in need of replacement and only got a few more chips for headache. Got a check for $650 from my insurance to get it fixed. It will be wearing a bra until I get my 383 and t5 intalled next year. The bra will hide most of the damage except for the push pads on each side of the plate holder. I figure I'll get a flexiglass nose and fill the front seam to give it a sleaker look. I am just glad it didn't go threw the garage. I choked and turn the key while standing outside the car. It turned over and lurched forward. I pulled my hand out and it fired up, burnt the tires and smashed into a shelf and the compressor. I was amazed that it didn't do anything to my fiberglass. It could have been much, MUCH worse.
