have you tried Walmart's super duper automatic oil filter selection program in aisle 17? You punch in the make, model, yr, engine and viola...it gives you the top choices. For me I prefer the big Wix filter at Napa.

Not one of the big names in the filter industry by which many swear, but Moroso has a line of racing filters definitely worth a look IMCO for high-performance applications. #22461 is 2qt. and 8" long, while #22460 is the shorter extra-capacity version.

If it's stock 68 and later "spin-on" style, then you'll want one of the following:
Purolator - L40084
AC - PF932
Fram - PH373
Motorcraft - FL308
STP - S373
Deutsch - S2827
These are all 2 QT instead of the standard (short) 1 QT filters and you should be able to find at least one of them at your local auto parts store.
