I know Custom Image was selling some some nice looking c3 small block header sidepipes on the forum, but he ran out, and doesn't know when his supplier will get more.
I know Hookers are an option, but I don't want to spend that much.
I may end up going with OBX headers, but I cannot find a supplier on ebay.
Does anyone know where to buy a reasonably priced set of stainless header sidepipes?? Links would be great.
I purchassed a set from Custom Image, You get what you pay for, I had to many issues with fit and appearance exspeacially with the drivers side. I currently have them at a shop to be welded due to fact the fit was so bad I had to cut 1'' out of the four tubes so they would look some what correct. Also get you some shields or never wear shorts. I am in week 4 of a 3rd degree burn and Lord for 2 weeks I never knew so mutch pain and still hasn't come close to being fully healed. Josh attempted to help but was limited do to the fact he recieved little or no support from the POS fabricaters.

First response I recieved was my engine was not centered in the car, correct none are.
Second response, my body is not on the car square, nope not the case.
If you have trouble getting the bolt in for cyl #1 which you will, answer use a shorter bolt only need 3 threads there the strongest ones. *^%^#$@#&%#^$*&^%(&%^ WTF
You just need to ding the hell out of it in a couple of spots. Any way I'll post photos after they are re-welded
Interesting, others have not reported this many problems w/ the CI headers. Do you have a standard or auto?
5 speed and no problems with that issue. There have been others with DS issues but maybe not as bad as mine, I believe the welder was having a really bad day or just didn't care. Talk to Josh before you purchase, last I talked to him he was concerned and was supposed to get with the fabs to figure out what the heck there doing.
Just wanted to add that I bought and tried to install a stainless set of OBX Headers, side mount. The passenger side went in just fine. Had to trim a little of the side molding to clear one pipe but other than that passenger side was fine. Drivers side is another story. Pipe in the way for Z bar, pipe in front for #1 would not get past the steering box. Had to have the drivers side header cut and redone (pipes 1 and 4) to clear both of these items. This is for a 68 convertable with 5 speed. Now once all that was done then all is fine. I also had to remove the temp sending unit from the drivers side on the side of the head or risk braking it. Had to drain the coolant for this little task. I got good at installing and removing the drivers side, I think 5 times before the final weld.
Just beware that the drivers side is some-what a problem for a lot of us. Even the HHK give some members some grief. I'll try and get some pictures posted later.
Hey dntoearthman, very good advice about shields and your picture of that nasty burn says it all. I told my friends that I'll be putting a set on mine soone. I want to save my marrage and not take my better half to the emergency room. The stainless steel gets very hot!!! Hope your healing okay.
Does not seem to matter much who makes the side pipe headers, the drivers side is always a problem. Lots of threads on here about the side headers. I guess it is hit and miss.
Good luck!

Reason: spelling
I installed OBX stainless header & side pipes. Fix perfectly without any cutting of pipes. Impossible to install without removing & replacing Z-bar. I honestly believe most installation problems are caused by inexperienced owners over their head. This is a hard job.
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.

I agree go to any Corvette show and you'll find some nice looking girl with a burn scar usually on the inside of her right leg when her leg touches the pipe when she got out.The Vette and boyfriend are usually long gone.
I almost got one getting out of a friends Vette but I had long pants on.
I like sidepipes but I would get shields for them or no one gets in without long pants on.
As for fitting sidepipes and headers onto our C3's if your headers or sidepipes go on with no problems buy a lottery ticket
