Hi
Searching threads as I have the same issue - replacement motor ordered and is different to original.
Extra wires and additional prong to work out.
I assume the extra wires are for a washer pump so it may be OK to just secure them without using as the pump on my 78 is separate?
Appreciate any information.
Regards
Robert

Did you guys check your old motor to make sure it is working? I have a video on U tube that shows how to test it... In most cases the original motor is fine and the problem is somewhere else.

Where is the extra wire located? Can you post a picture of this and I'll see if I can help both of you.

Here is how you bench test the motor?

Ernie
Thanks for chiming in.
I've attached a photo of the old motor and new motor.
You can see the 2 extra red wires from the new motor.
I did check the old motor as per your instructions but it didn't fire up so I would think it is toast?

New motor

Thanks for any advise given.
