Default Tach red line question

Does anyone know what the red lines were for 68,69- 400 and 435 HP and 70-72 LT-1's. Were they all the same? Thanks

Tony,

1968-69 435hp cars as well as 1970-1972 LT-1s (except 1972 LT-1s with air conditioning) used a tachometer with a 6500 rpm redline.

1968-1969 400hp cars and 1972 LT-1s with air conditioning used a tachometer with a 5600 rpm redline.

Thanks for the quick reply Stan. I just picked up a tack that has a 6000 red line. It has the green numbers, so it has to be from 68 to 71. Any idea what engine it is for?

Tony,

1969-1970 L-46 (350/350) used a tachometer with a 6000 rpm redline... Sounds like that's what you have. I believe that the 1968 L-79 (327/350) may have used this as well.
