Oil Guage Bounce
Have a quick question. In 1975 Corvette have an oil guage that is 95% accurate. But every once in a while the guage will bounce 5 degrees down and then come back to correct reading. Just replaced the oil sending unit and checked the wire. Is this normal or is it time to replace the oil guage? Thanks.

first of all, that is normal. Secondly it would be the pressure sender, not that gauge causing the flutter.

While not a 75' owner myself, oil pressure problem's aren't something to be ignored. Maybe just an electrical glitch in your case, with a pump replacement not a big deal. But if losing a rod bearing, and possible crank damage, I'd keep an eye on it.

Thank you for both your quick reply. That takes a load off. I did a double check and did find a few exposed wire in the area of the oil sending unit. Will do a complete clean up. WOW! The wealth ok knowledge here is out of this world. Thanks again!!!
