Default Headlight opening adjustment help please

Seeing that it's snowing here this morning I thought I'd go out and work on my headlights. One light pops up about a 1/4 inch to far the other about the same but to low.
I've adjusted the closing distance so they sit flush with the nose. Do you adjust the opening difference with the actuator rod length or the stop bolt?
Or a third place, the bracket the link pivots off of?
The manuals I have don't talk about that specifically. Thanks in advance folks.

Did mine a few months ago easy but kind of hard to see. On the out board side with the benzel off is the J arm there is a adjustment screew on the end about 1-11/4 inches long you can adjust the opening hight with these

Thanks, that'll fix the one that goes to high. The other one needs to go just a bit higher. I'm wondering if thats the an adjustment of the actuator rod or loosening the 3 bolts on the bracket and sliding it forward.

Thanks  I had to start by moving the bracket because the "stop" bolt was never touching in the up position, that was the low one. The other one  after running the "stop" bolt out the link wouldn't go over center(to lock the light up). So I had to move the bracket there to. After adjusting up and down without the actuator attached I found I couldn't screw the rod end down far enough to let the light all the way down :cry . So I "trimmed" a .25 inch of the end of the rod, ran a tap over it. Perfect, now lights up, even with lower edge of the bezel and down, flush with the nose. I even got the side gaps all even :D.

What a learning experience and some luck no rusty bolts or frozen rod ends.

I had same problem on my 1978 - driver's side light didn't come up far enough. There are 3 bolts that make this adjustment. You need to remove the 2 lower springs, then adjust. After it is adjusted in the up position, go back and adjust in the closed position with the 1 bolt.
