Default light switch

77 Corvette, given to me by original owner, my mom. I have LOTS of little things wrong that I am trying to fix. Here is one: I have a question regarding the light switch. My interior lights come on when the doors are open, but when I have the doors closed and turn the light switch to turn on my interior lights, they don't come on. Any ideas on what I need to do to get that to work?

usually the switch is the culprit. BUT ....sometimes and I did say sometimes it can be what is pointed out in this thread.

cshelldiver, what your doing when you rotate the light switch **** is grounding the white wire that goes to the courtesy lights, this turns them on.
