82 headers and sidepipes

82 headers and sidepipes

I have an annoying exhaust leak on my 82. I am tempted to just swap out my exhaust for some headers and sidepipes. Any suggestions on headers and sidepipes for a black 82?

ecklers has a fiberglass sidepipe cover. you can use the factory type pipes or fabricate your own pipes.

Stainless steel hookers. I prefer the sidepipe look on chrome bumper Corvettes myself

Your stock stainless steel manifolds are some of the best GM ever made; they amount to shorty tube headers. Why not fix your exhaust leak and keep the rest of the money in your pocket?

I disagree, I have the Stainless manifolds on my '81.They are absolutely terrible. I broke a motor mount and the left side manifold flange broke right off. I'm in the process of putting headers on right now. I have the old manifolds off and the quality of them is just horrendous. Looks like they were Made in China.

Thanks everyone! I am leaning towards keeping my exhaust and just fixing the leak. I agree with qwank, I think sidepipes look best with chrome bumpers. BTW MelWff, you have my favorate year and color. Side pipes look awesome on your car!
