The oil pressure gauge on my car has an oil line that went to the back of the block on the small block. On the big block it looks like it's supposed to go to the side of the block by the oil filter, but I'm not sure what to connect it to. I went up the street to the parts store and it looks like the sending unit wants to have something electrical hooked up to it.
How am I supposed to hook up the oil gauge to the big block?

When we built my friend's 73 454 up, we attached the oil line directly to the left, rear side of the block. I will look and see if there are any photos of it but I don't think so. I am relying on memory here, but I think it is a standard compression fitting. I know that it is direct reading gauge, so there won't be any electrical hookup. Do you have an A.I.M.?

Steve
69's used a mechanical oil pressure guage.
My car's oil line is where yours is. Drivers side 3/4 back. There is an elbow that screws into the block and adapts to a compression fitting for the oil line.
Senders with electricial fittings are newer for electricial oil pressure guages.
Yes I have an AIM, and as I was posting this I was thinking "I should look this up in my AIM first". I wonder if Zip sells the elbow. I'll check and thanks for the confirmation.
