Default Rear Spindle seals

I have the spindles out and the parking brake hardware removed. My question is: "There is a shield between the inner bearing seal and where the half shaft yoke was. Will this shield push out with the bearing and seal if I tap the bearing through the spindle support from the outside? I don't want to try and force something and bend the heck out of this shield. What's the best way to do this? and how do you reinstall it?" Thanks for your help.

The inner bearing seal presses into the housing, the there's a metal shield that's a press fit on the OD of the housing, then the yoke flange, washer and nut. I think you're referring to the sheet metal shield pressed on the OD and that should pop off with a screw driver. If it bends, they are still availabe. I think I have the GM number at work if you need it.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. If I need to get the part number, I'll e-mail you.
