back fire!
hey guys, what do you think is going on for no reason when ever I goose(rev) the engine in park or neutural the engine back fires.not all the time any clues?
help.

I'm just adding my 2 cents worth, and I'm far from being a good mechanic but a friend of mine had a similar problem which turned out to be an exhaust manifold leak. Listen carefully with the hood open, if you can hear a popping noise tighten up the manifolds.

Make sure that your accellerator pump is working correctly. Like Yellow72 posted, a lean condition can cause a backfire and a sudden increase in air without the additional fuel will put you there.
