Default Rear Spring Replaced - Not Fun

Saturday was the day to replace everything.. Got my Cat from Muffler Tech, Got my rear Y from ZIP and got my TRW mono-spring from Muskegeon.. Clamps and muffler connections locally and I was ready.. This should have been a couple hour job but all it takes is one SNAP.. busted one of the center spring bolts. The only thing worse would have been breaking off the ear.. Spent the next several hours trying to get it out.. I've soaked these bolts for weeks while I was waiting for parts. This bolt was fused in. I ended up drilling and retapping the treads.. This just plain sucked.. The retapping wasn't bad I just hated doing it. I put the new spring in.. easy job.. and was able to torque the bolts to 30lbs. Had to take a ride (with no cat or exhaust) to..um.. set the bushings.. (that's what I told the wife ) :jester That was fun.. I could not believe the ride with the new spring. It was only a short ride but what I felt I liked..:yesnod: Glad I did it.. Thanks for everyone's help.. Next project is to install the new 55lbs PS control valve..

Koz, when you do the entire rear end meaning pulling the carrier, the 1/ 2 shafts and the trailing arms, just multiply the grief you had by the number of bolts that have to come out. So when someone asks how hard was it,you can tell them - not too bad. :jester
