I am converting to power brakes and instead of using the typical 9" booster I am going with a 7" booster so that I can clear my tall valve covers.
This booster has a slightly shorter rod coming out of it than the reproduction 9" boosters I have seen (1/4 shorter).
As I understand the design, the brake pedal is held at rest against the pedal stop by the return spring in the upper pedal assembly. Is the proper adjustment for the clevis to be "neutral" as far as not pressing against the pedal or not being pulled on by the pedal return spring?
What I mean is should I adjust the clevis so that it is neither pulling on the boosters threaded rod nor pushing on the threaded rod when the pedal is up against the stop?
