Default Engine startup with the body off

Did a search with no luck. Anyone have a 'checklist' for firing up an engine with the body off? I would like to check out the systems: P/S, W/P, quick fuel 750 cfm, electric fuel pump, fuel bypass and return line. I'll be running a (new to me) serpentine off of an '89 and '85 vette. I'd like to be able to correct any issues while I have unrestricted access to most everything.

I'm thinking:
- driveshaft removed
- temporary battery
- temporary radiator hooked up
- fuel
- P/S fluid (steeroids)
- A/C (not installed yet, gutted compressor for now)
- vacuum ports plugged
- mechanical oil pressure gauge port plugged

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I do it all the time.... its the only fun I've had in 3 years. Plus you can check for leaks. I would buy a cheap harbor freight mech. gauge set and hook them up so you can monitor the engine. I have my electric fans hooked up and the radiator support inplace so I can run it for hours if I want.

You will have to make up your own temporary wiring harness. I have my driveshaft on never any issues just dont hotwire the ignition and use a push button for the starter so you can tickle it to see if its in gear.

Only thing that held me back was how to hook up the master cylinder and pedals, otherwise I would have....

It's a manual (tko 600) that's why i figured on leaving the drive shaft out; a little insurance against chasing it across the street when i crank it. Anyway the D/S is too long right now after the mods I've made so far. Just got the serpentine setup off a C4 in the mail yesterday from Shawn at corvette nutz (supporting vendor and a good guy) I'll be checking fitment today (i wish there was some diagram as to which bolts go where) so I'm getting closer.
mysixtynine, I think that's why I'm doing it; for a little "fun" after 2 1/2 years...
