Does anyone have any good suggestions on the best way of cleaning oxidation spots off your car. I'm currently using a cleaning wax that is slowly, ever so slowing, working. Many hours yet to go. Obviously a buffer would speed things up but are there any good paint cleaners out there that anyone would recommend?
I was doing this the other day and found that my Orange Clean with pumice hand cleaner did a great job. I started out with rubbing compound but it just seemed to stain the paint. I used the hand cleaner to clean up the stain and then realized it was all I needed. I wouldn't recommend this for a good paint job but I'm in the process of preparing for new paint anyway.
I use a Black and decker buffer ( 6129 7"/9" variable speed polisher type 100) it's speed is about 1700Rs. I have a 3M hookit sbs pad on it part number 051131. I use 3M rubbing compound part number 05973 on the pad. It does a good job just becareful around the edges and if your paint is Laquer it will get too hot too fast and burn. Feel the paint with your hand to see it's temperature. It will go alot faster with a buffer. I would stay away from the walmart type. I guess it depends how many you want to buy. I got mine from a body shop the guy wanted a new one and made me a deal. If he made his living with it it must be good, and it is. I also use a wool pad with mothers on my Alumnium wheels. they come out so bright you need sun glasses to look at them. Jim
I used Clay Magic, and Mothers California gold cleaner wax.
Put a real nice shine on my car.
Get compliments all the time and people asking me what I use
