Even though the headers fit very well, they were just a little bit too low.

So this picture is of the headers you are taking off?
What brand are these? Do you have a picture of the McJack's to show the difference in fitment? You maybe able to help others in the deciding what headers to buy when it comes to ease of installation and clearence issues.

The headers in the above pics, are 1-5/8" long tube stainless steel. Purchased off e-bay. Probably just some generic with no brand. They actually looked like they were well built though, with thick flanges, good welds, bolts, gaskets, etc. "Buy it now" $120.00
But I didn't consider how low the collector would sit....... and my 73 actually sits a little high in the front too. Now, because I do nothing but low RPM driving, other forum members convinced me that shorty headers would be a much better choice.
OK, so now I'm out the $120.00 + shipping, but that's ok cause I'm much better off and I can always sell the headers to the street rodder crowd. I don't have pics yet, but will definately post some when I get my car back.
