Wanted to say thanks to all for the advice on replacing the switch. The only problems I had were the **** broke from the shaft and the bezel that says LIGHTS was split at the base circle. JB Weld to the rescue for both pieces and can't see a thing, stuff holds like iron. 30 year old plastic is brittle.
The best tip was to have the switch shaft all the way in and hold the spring loaded button down and pull all the way out. Read this after spending 20 -30 minutes cussing the damn thing when it would pull out and then I'd put it back in to test and could not get it out.
