Default Control Arm Bolts Backwards? - pic

Bubba's killing me. These upper control arm bolts are backwards aren't they? (71 Coupe BB) Are they special bolts? What keeps the bolt from spinning (assuming it's installed correctly). This is giving my alignment guy fits. He said it was very hard to get to the nut. I don't doubt it. And all four are like this.

Backwards from mine too. Allegedly, mine were oem when I researched them before disassembly.

Removing the bolt makes it a lot easier to remove the arm, sure ticks off the alignment guy though.

I do my own alignments, and so have never had a issue with the bolts serrated edge being stripped in the chassis, I just stick a wrench or socket on it, and twist the nut....woopie doo....

in fact if I had a welding capability, I would weld the nutz on the inside of the frame, and make the above 'reverse' position a permanent fix for a silly problem, having to remove the fan shroud, or drive the bolt out to get the control arm off for the pesky UCB's...

Yes.

There are serrations under the bolt head just like a wheel stud.
